1894 - 78 Henshaw Street, Walworth, Surrey (at baptism of Eleanor Julia)
1901  - 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London. There was a boarder a William MURPHY aged 30 a Hawker and General Dealer born Camberwell, London
1904 - 14 Sutherland Place, Walworth, Newington, London (at marriage of Samuel to Nellie) Samuel's father William down as a Fish curer
1905 - 14 Sutherland Place, Walworth, Newington, London (at baptism of Sarah)
I found th is family on the 1901 Census and found to my surprise that Samuel had married again to a Nellie who was only 21 years ago, so assume that Florence died between 1891 and 1901. As Samuel is shown as only four months on the Census I have put him as the son of Samuel and Nellie. This could be wrong. The Census actually says second wife which is most unusual. They were living at 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London
Father – William ARNOLD – General Dealer
  2. 1871 Townley Street, St Peter's, Newington, Surrey  (RG10/620 Folio 130 Page 33)

  3. 1881 Census - 38 Faraday Street, Walworth, Surrey.
1891 Census - 8 Angle Road, Streatham, Surrey

I found this family on the 1901 Census and found to my surprise that Samuel had married again to a Nellie who was only 21 years ago, so assume that Florence died between 1891 and 1901. 1939 2 Warren Buildings, Southwark, London, Nellie BELLAMY a widow, born 30th December 1879 House Cleaner
In May 2021 I found coming down a line from a CHILTON family that I came to ] Nellie Louise FORRESTER, this was coming down a line which connects to my family through my mothers maiden name POWELL, but this chart also connects my wifes family through the Dackombe name on this chart her Great Grandmother being a Caroline DACKOMBE, both connections on this chart are quite remote to our families but it is the first time that there has been charts that connect from both sides, This has thrown the numbering of my charts as there are generations differences between the two families.
  4. 1911 - 3 Anne's Row, Walworth London (address at marriage) Father - James Robey BELLAMY - Waterside Labourer
1911 Census - 21 Toulon St Camberwell S E. 5. 1886 - 19 King and Queen Street, Walworth, Surrey (address at baptism of Florence)
1891 - 13 Guildford Road, Camberwell, Surrey. A Florence ARNOLD appears on the 1891 Census living or staying with John and Fanny DACKOMBE, aged 4, Granddaughter, living at 13 Guildford Road, Camberwell, Surrey
1901  - 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London. There was a boarder a William MURPHY aged 30 a Hawker and General Dealer born Camberwell, London
1906 130 Westmoreland Road, Walworth, Southwark, London (address at marriage) Father Samuel George ARNOLD - General Dealer

1909 78 Branden Street, Walworth, Southwark, London (baptism of duaghter Hilda (Agnes) Louisa)
1911 5 Anns Row, Walworth SE John Henry RUMBLE aged 28 Private Royal Marines LI born Walworth, London, Florence Minnie RUMBLE aged 25 down as having been married 5 years and having had three children all of whom survive at the date of this Census. She was born in Walworth, London, Florence RUMBLE aged 4 born Walworth, London, Agnes RUMBLE aged 2 born Walworth, London, John Arthur RUMBLE aged 3 months born Walworth, London, George BROOKS Friend aged 23 Soldier (ex) now Gas Fitter born Walworth, London, Annie ARNOLD Sister in Law aged 21 Waitress born Walworth, London.
1914 13 Emporer Street, Southwark, London (baptism of daughter Annie and son Arthur)
1916 13 Emporer Street, Southwark, London (baptism of son James Leonard)
  6. 1888 - 20 Nursery Row (at baptism of John William)
    1891 - 100 Brandon Street, Walworth
1901  - 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London. There was a boarder a William MURPHY aged 30 a Hawker and General Dealer born Camberwell, London
1910 - 107 Hillingdon Street. (address at marriage) his new wife was at the same address and her father is down as Thomas PERRIN (deceased) a Gardener
We believe that John and Margaret had 13 children, I only have the actual birth dates of two, one born in 1909 and one in 1920 at this time.
We had this marriage down as John William ARNOLD to Margaret Queenie KELLY, I have found the marriage as shown above which is indeed of a John William ARNOLD, with a father Samuel George ARNOLD (deceased) correctly but it is to a Margaret Thomasine PERRIN, she is down as being 19 years old and a spinster, so not married before but the witnesses are a David and Emily KELLY, Somewhere the KELLY must have come in. There are many possibilities, perhaps she was adopted and her original name was KELLY and the witnesses were her siblings, etc etc. I have shown the marriage as I have found it.
I cannot find any births between 1911 and 1915 with ARNOLD as the surname and PERRIN as the mothers maiden name but we believe that the surname was actually KELLY and there is a John W G ARNOLD born June quarter 1912 in Camberwell district with KELLY as the mothers maiden name. Then between 1918 and 1929 there are the following all in Camberwell, Kathleen A ARNOLD September quarter 1918, Samuel D ARNOLD September quarter 1920, Edwin J ARNOLD March quarter 1922, Eileen D ARNOLD September quarter 1923, Margaret Q Arnold September quarter 1924, Mary A ARNOLD June quarter 1926, Donald R ARNOLD June quarter 1927 and finally George W Arnold June quarter 1929.
These are the names that were given to me for this couple and I hold on my family tree program: Emily ARNOLD born 22nd May 1909, Samuel David ARNOLD born 17th July 1920 died 14th September 1986, Florence ARNOLD, John ARNOLD, Alfred ARNOLD, Kathleen ARNOLD, Edward ARNOLD, Eileen ARNOLD, Margaret ARNOLD, Donald ARNOLD, Mary ARNOLD, Reggie ARNOLD and George ARNOLD.
So the problem of marriage name still not solved, it appears that there was a child in 1909 so before the marriage I have found, but still certain it is correct especially as the witnesses had the name KELLY.
  7. 1891 - 100 Brandon Street, Walworth
An Annie appears on the 1891 Census, the information given to me before was of an Ann, I would think therefore the same child
1901  - 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London. There was a boarder a William MURPHY aged 30 a Hawker and General Dealer born Camberwell, London
1911 5 Anns Row, Walworth SE John Henry RUMBLE aged 28 Private Royal Marines LI born Walworth, London, Florence Minnie RUMBLE aged 25 down as having been married 5 years and having had three children all of whom survive at the date of this Census. 1911 - 5 Anne's Row, Walworth, London. (address at marriage) Address for husband the same, his father was down as William Walter BROOKES but see following note.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
