(5 months on the 1891 Census)
  1. 1861 Census - I think I have the correct family living in Tilmanstone, Kent, at Pond Cottage. William SETTERFIELD is aged58, the Head, an Ag Lab born in Minster, Kent, his wife Sarah also born in Minster is 50. They have a son George SETTERFIELD, born in Minster, who was 11 so all this ties in with the family as we knew it. In addition they have a son Stephen, aged 9 a Scholar and two daughters, Martha 5 and Sarah 3, all of the last three were born in Tilmanstone, Kent. I will add these to the above chart.
  2. 1881 Census - Sarah SETTERFIELD was a Servant, living at Main Rd Walters Hall, Monkton, Kent. George COLLETT was the Head, a retired farmer. Sarah, age 24 was a Housemaid.
  3. 1891 Census - I have looked for Sarah born Tilmanstone in 1858 and there are only three choices. I think this is the right one as the family is living at Venson Farm, Eastry, but next door is an Edward SETTERFIELD and family at Venson, Eastry. William T BELSEY was a Farm Bailiff and was aged37 and born in Tilmanstone (another reason for picking this particular Sarah) Sarah was 34 and born in Tilmanstone. Their children were Ellen E BELSEY, Age 8, Scholar, born Margate, Kent (yet another reason for picking this family as Sarah was not married on the 1881 Census, so Ellen being the oldest child at 8 agrees with this), Edith M BELSEY, Age 6, born Eastry, Kent, Ada E BELSEY, Age 4 born Eastry, Kent and Henry H BELSEY, age 5 months, born Eastry, Kent.
  4. 1901 Census - Gore, Eastry, Kent. William BELSEY, still a Farm Bailiff, age 47, Sarah 43, both born Tilmanstone. The children still at home were Ada E BELSEY, age 13 born Eastry, Kent and Henry H BELSEY, age 10, born Eastry, Kent. Again this completes all the Censuses between 1861 and 1901 for Sarah.
  5. 1901 Census - Ellen and Edith BELSEY were together and both servants at No 9 Fort Paragon, Margate, Kent to a Eliza THOMPSON, a Lodging House Keeper, aged 58 born Uethwold? Norfolk, Ellen was a Housemaid, Domestic and Edith a General Servant, Domestic, aged 18 and 15 respectively, born Margate, and Eastry respectively.

This covers all of this family to the 1901 Census.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
