However, the 18 trees on ancestry for Parley CARTER all show his mother as Frances. Living with his parents. 1940 Breckenbridge Street, Red Bluff, Tehama, California, USA I am having a lot of problems with the marriages for Arvel, the information I was sent says he was married to a Edith M ???, I have found a family tree which says this was Edith May MATTHEWS, I have also found a birth registration in 1922 which shows Arvel's wife as Florence Marjorie CHERNOW at the birth of Eilean Olive CARTER on 8th April 1922 in Browning, Montana. On the tree the birth certificate appears it says that Florence did not die until 1989, but we have a birth of a Ruby to his "second" wife Edith in 1939, So perhaps he divorced his first wife. Then other tree show him married to a Esther CORNELL in 1918 I believe that Arvel was also a boxer and fought in Canada as Kid CARTER, he also spent sometime in Montana State Prison. Will enlarge on both when I put a chart on for him. Information for Florence Marjorie CHERNOW It appears that Florence married three times, the first to Arvel. Carter was born Sept. 13, 1903 in McGrath, Alberta, Canada. He had operated used car dealerships for 40 years in Burbank and Oroville. He also had a Bardohl franchise before his retirement. Oroville had been his residence since 1949. His wife, Mary Ann, died in 1990. Survivors included a daughter, Peggy Pfingsten of Eureka; a son, James of Hollywood; and five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
