On the 31st December 2005 I received the following email from a Charles MAYCOCK regarding this family, it was as follows:
Charles CHITTY was my father's maternal grandfather. He died in 1933 and was indeed a coachbuilder. The workshop was in Horsley (sp) Road and stands to this day! There are two small cottages alongside, presumably where he lived in 1881, before moving round the corner to Palace Grove. I have a photo of the family grave which should help with the questions you raise. Elizabeth (d.1958) was my grandmother and married John Charles Maycock and lived in Bromley.
On the IGI there is a baptism in Bromley for a Charles CHITTY on the 25th March 1855. This is possibly this Charles even though it is two years after his birth according to his age on the census. It this is Charles his parents were a William and Sarah CHITTY. There are a lot of CHITTY's in Bromley so that is why it is not certain that this entry belong to this Charles.

On the 1911 census Elizabeth is shown as having 4 children, 2 of which have died. At present we have found just 3, of which one has died, more research required.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
