  4. On the 4th November 2009 I received the following email from a Jill KITCHEN. I have had problems for many years regarding Charles Richard DACKOMBE and his marriages. I think Jill's email clears up the problem and the revised chart above show this, Charles in fact appears to have married three times, the second two wives had been previously married as shown above:
I am a friend of Bernard Dackombe, who with his twin brother Anthony was put into care after the death of his mother Maria Dolores Dackombe who
died in  1938.  Although her marriage certificate (which I have a copy of) says that her husband was  Charles *William *Dackombe, further research shows that this is a mistake. On her death certificate the informant is 'C* R *Dackombe, widower of deceased' and also on Bernard's birth certificate, the parents are Charles *Richard *Dackombe and Maria Dolores.   Bernard also has the paperwork from the Church of England Children's Society, in which every reference of the father is down as Charles *Richard *Dackombe.
Charles Richard married twice more after the death of Maria Dolores.  His second wife was  Gladys May Saunders, formerly Lovell.  She divorced
her first husband Saunders.  They were married on 1st October 1946.  Charles Richard Dackombe describes his condition as ' Bachelor', when in
fact he was a widower.  Gladys died in 1949. His third wife was Dorothy Ellen Joan Bewick, who was divorced from Boris Bewick , and married Charles Richard on 1st December 1951.  He describes himself as 'Widower'.

  6. Mothers maiden name was DANIELS

  12. This chart has become confusing owing to the different marriages. I have therefore shown Charles Richard Dackombe in red and then his three wives also in red. Melvyn Henry DACKOMBE was the adopted child of Dorothy Ellen Jane DACKOMBE née BEWICK, I have found that he was actually the child of Dorothy and Boris, so was in fact the stepson of Charles Richard Dackombe. Gladys had previously been married to Leslie SAUNDERS. Dorothy Ellen Joan Smith had been married to Boris N D BEWICK before marrying Charles Richard Dackombe, Boris married again to a Joan M PALMER

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
