Daughter Grace was born about March 1871 so we assumed Esther the mother had died between then and the 7th April, the date of the census. However, no death has been found. Daughter Grace was born about March 1871 so we assumed Esther the mother had died between then and the 7th April, the date of the census However, no death has been found. Then on the 1881 census Esther appears once again as the wife of Richard. Nevertheless, in the “Condition as to Marriage” column it would appear that Richard was again entered as a “Wd” while the entry for Esther appears to be “Mu”. These pieces of information appear to have been added in a different hand to the rest of the information on the page. There was an Esther DAVEY death registered in the September quarter 1881 in the West Ham District, Essex, age 39 And a burial in St Mary Magdalene, East Ham Essex on the 24th August 1881, again for an Esther age 39 There was just other Esther DAVEY born about 1841 on the 1871 and 1881 censuses but she was living in Sussex and her death is in the same county 1881 5 Claremont Street, East Ham, Essex 1871 57 Abbert?
