  1. 1826 East Stoke, Dorset
1841 Census- Langton, Langton Matravers, Dorset. Ambrose was with a George SMITH and his family on this Census, George was a Smith, no occupation for Ambrose.
1861 Census - 18 Samuel Street, Limehouse, London.
1871 Census - 7 ???, Limehouse, London. Ambrose is down as single? (possibly should be married) he is a Boarder aged 20 a Smith, born Poole Dorset, so everything correct. He was with an Ann BOLLAM a widow, a Tailoress and her two children. There were two other Boarders (see note at end of Note 1)
1881 Census - 2 Burn Street, Limehouse, London
1891 Census - 5 Spring Gardens Place, Ratcliff, London
1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London. His second wife was a lot younger than himself, I think he had made himself 10 years younger than he actually was on this Census, correct age on death. Taking the census literally he was a Blacksmith and his wife was a Wheelwright but I think that he just used the wife's line to continue his occupation. The third line for his son Samuel just shows the word Work so again this could relate to himself and not his son.
Have a marriage that ties up with Ambrose and Emily as she is shown as Emily H on the 1881 Census, however the first child was not born until 1874 and on the 1871 Census Ambrose is shown as a boarder and being single, so something is not quite correct.
  2. 1881 Census - 2 Burn Street, Limehouse, London
1891 Census - 5 Spring Gardens Place, Ratcliff, London
  3. 1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
    1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London
  4. 1881 Census - 2 Burn Street, Limehouse, London
  5. This child appears on the BMD, because of the name and place I believe it is a child of this family
  6. 1881 Census - 2 Burn Street, Limehouse, London
  7. 1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
    1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London
  8. 1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
    1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London
  9. 1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
    1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London
  10. 1901 Census - 26 Albion Road, Mile End Old Town, London
    1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London
  11. 1911 Census - 20 Tidey St Bow E, London

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
