  1. 1861 New Road, Over, Cambridgeshire
1851 Over End Cambridgeshire, with her brother Nathaniel
1880; Census Place: Exeter, Clay, Kansas; Roll: T9_376; Family History Film: 1254376; Page: 93.4000; Enumeration District: 30; Image: 0584.
1900; Census Place: Chicago Ward 10, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T623 255; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 260.
1910; Census Place: Chicago Ward 12, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T624_253; Page: 8A; Enumeration District: 582; Image: 351.
1920; Census Place: Chicago Ward 11, Cook (Chicago), Illinois; Roll: T625_320; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 662; Image: 142.
  2. 1861 Census - Malting House, Little Chesterford, Essex - (We had the father and mother of Alice, and although the fathers information is correct to birth place and year of birth her mothers information is not. The 1861 Census shows an Ellen born about 38. The information we have is for an Emma born 1848, as this would have meant that Alice would have been born when Emma was 10 I do not think that the Emma we had was Alice's mother. Possibly the Ellen on the 1861 Census died and he married an Emma who was a lot younger than his first wife. This might show up in later Censuses.
1871 Census -  Chickory Wood, Henham, Essex - Ancestry.com has the family down as Yavion, but very clear at Yarrow on the Census. They are back in Henham, Essex. Peters wife is now indeed Emma not Ellen and there is a large gap between the age of the first children and the last two, so I have put two marriages on the chart above with the last two children as Emma's and the others as Ellen's
1881 Census - 10 Belgrave Rd, Hampstead, London, - Alice was still in the UK on the 1881 Census, although she married in the US in 1884. Her sister Martha was at the same address on this Census.
On YARROW Chart 0600 there is an Alfred YARROW who married a Helen DRING, the father of Alice was born in Henham, Essex as was Alfred, so I think there must be a connection.  At present I  have Alice on the 1860 Census in England and Alfred on the 1870 Census in the US.  This has proved they were not brother and sister and Alfred's father was James and Alice's father was Peter, but there is a Peter as a brother of Alfred, and at that time Peter was not a common name, so I think it is possibly the Peter and James were brothers.
  3. 1900; Census Place: Chicago Ward 10, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T623 255; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 260.
1910; Census Place: Chicago Ward 12, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T624_253; Page: 8A; Enumeration District: 582; Image: 351.
1920; Census Place: Chicago Ward 11, Cook (Chicago), Illinois; Roll: T625_320; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 662; Image: 142.
I have looked on the 1871 and 1881 Census for an Agnes COWELL, there is only one that actually comes up as born in 1865 and I have added details of her birth place above. There is another one born 1864 who lived in Lancashire, but I think it is more than likely the one in Essex. She was living with her family on the 1881 Census at Clays, Ashdon, Essex, Her father was an Ebenezer COWELL, a Farmer, born 1834 in Little Bardfield, Essex. This ties up with the information we have on Note 8.
Agnes and her parents and siblings emigrated to the US on the "Sythia" from Liverpool arriving in New York on 18th December 1884.
  4. 1900; Census Place: Chicago Ward 10, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T623 255; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 260.
1920; Census Place: Chicago Ward 29, Cook (Chicago), Illinois; Roll: T625_346; Page: 17A; Enumeration District: 1794; Image: 525. This is definitely the right family on this Census, all the names and ages correct. However the name is down as Weinburg, very clear as such on the Census. Also David' parents were born in  Germany so it is likely this could have been their name. It was quite usual around this time to change German names to English sounding ones.

We had the children all very well documented for this family, but we did not have a Kath, it is just possibly that this child is Edith Agnes the next child up from this as she does not appear this Census. However on the dates we had there was only a one year gap between Florence and Edith and on the Census there is a three year gap between Florence and Kath so I think it is more than likely there was this another child.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
