  3.
  4. 1891 Halfway House, Steers Common, Kirdford, Petworth, Sussex,
1901 Rams Lane, Dunsfold, Hambledon, Surrey,
1911 Chalk Pit Cottage, Dorking, Surrey. Lilian is down as have been married 6 years and having had no children (see note below)
It would appear that Arthur and Lilian did not marry until 1912 in Lewes but what I have found on the 1911 seems to suggest that this is the same couple. Lilian is down as being born in Kirdford in 1883 but she is down as Lilian HAMMOND and down as being married 6 years and having had no children. Perhaps when she was expecting Winifred they decided that they should get married, hence the marriage in 1912. I cannot find a marriage for an Arthur HAMMOND to a Lilian DURRANT around 1906.

    Comments on 1939 entries
The birth dates for all three do not match birth registration details. But it seems unlikely that there would be another family with three members with these names. For Marital Status for all three there is no entry. And Herbert was a John rather than a G
  8. 1901 Rams Lane, Dunsfold, Hambledon, Surrey as Nelly
1911 Seven Stars, Leigh, Reigate, Surrey. Servant of Henry FLINT (38) Publican born Bletchingley, Surrey and his wife Hannah (39) born Sussex. Visiting them was Ivy CRAWLEY (11) School born Coulsdon, Surrey
1939 The Pond Field Off Est End Lane , Chailey R.D., Sussex birth 23 May 1891. Servant of Eleanor Annie MARTIN born 17 January 1880 and Rosalind S STEEL born 20 October 1885 both with Private Means. Living with them was a Joan M DURRANT born 15 May 1930 At School. (It would appear she later married Peter L HYLANDS)
    Comment concerning birth dates.
The dates shown on the 1939 census and Death Index do not correspond with the birth registration. But the same thing has happened with brother Herbert John and sisters Clara May and Edith Dorothy. Places of birth also vary between documents for all the family and as other members of the family were in Chailey in 1939 and died in Lewes it is thought that this Ellen belongs to the same family
  9. 1901 Rams Lane, Dunsfold, Hambledon, Surrey,
1911 Church Grove Cottages Leigh Reigate, Leigh, Surrey
  10. 1895 Dunsfold, Surrey (baptism of Annie Amelia)
1896 Common House, Dunsfold, Surrey (address given at burial)
  11. 1897 Dunsfold, Surrey (baptism of Alice Florence)
1901 Rams Lane, Dunsfold, Hambledon, Surrey as Florence

1901 Rams Lane, Dunsfold, Hambledon, Surrey,
1911 Beggars Burn Abinger Hammer Dorking, Abinger, Surrey. Possibly visiting this family where his father is lodging, His father is lodging with David HIGGS (53) Carter on Farm born Mortimore, Buckinghamshire, his wife Elizabeth (53) born Leighton, Buzzard, Bedfordshire and children Ernest (16) Odd Jobs Labour and Daisy (14) Servant Domestic both born Frimley, Sussex

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
