    COULSDON MAN's FATAL HURRY
    REIGATE CHAUFFEUR's EVIDENCE
    Alighting hurriedly from a motor bus, intents on cathcing a train at Couldson South station, on Thursday afternoon of last week, Herbert Thomas Falkner (54), a retired burield's merchant of Fairdene-road, Couldson, was knocked down and killed in Brighton-road by a motor car driven by Joseph Bashford, of "Craeside," Reigate. Concerning the fatality, the Coroner for East Surrey (Mr. F. J. Nightingatle) held an inquriy on Monday afternoon at Bandon Hill.
    Herbert John Falkner, a son of the deceased, of "Glyn," Barten, Torquay, gave eveidence of identification, and said his father had good hearing and sight.
    William Randall, of 2, North-road, South Park, Reigate, a conductor in the employ of East surrey Traction Co. said deceased , boarded his bus at Redhill on Thursday last and went on top. at Hollymeoak Road just before reaching Coulsdon, he came down the steps and sat just inside the but. He told witness that he want to cath the 5.28 p.m train at Coulsdon, and witness informed the driver. The bus arrived at Couldson Station at the same taime as the train, and witness remarked to deceased, "You will hust about do it. " " He flew past me." continues witness, "got off the bus and the next moment I heard a should.. Looking round through the window I say Mr. Falkner roll out from underneath a motor car.
