  1. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1851 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1861 Census - Mill End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. .
1871 Census - 203 High Street, Watford, Huntingdonshire. I have looked on the BMD and it shows as above but there are two men and one female who is a Martha not a Mary so do not know the maiden name of Mary. Bringing up the whole list for that quarter for Whittlesea it shows eight Mary's so still cannot decide which is the correct one. Alfred's age is not correct, down as being born in 1842 but I am sure this is the correct Alfred. The GRANGE family as whole seems to have moved to the Watford area.
1881 Census - 4 Alma Place, Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Again Alfred's age has changed but definitely the same family as on the 1871 Census, this time he is down as being 43 so born in 1838. They have moved to Peterborough. Two children on 1871 Census with them Eliza Ann is a Domestic Servant, Harriet a Scholar, then there is Charles J, aged 9 Scholar, born Bushey, Hertfordshire, Mary E, 6 born Lynn, Norfolk and Frederick C aged 6 months born Holbeach, Lincolnshire.
  2. 1881 Census - 4 Alma Place, Peterborough, Northamptonshire.
1891 Census - 2 Wrights Yard, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Mary is Head of Household, but is down as married and not a widow. Children Eliza and Harriet's occupations are down as Lace (Frilling), Mary E's is Cotton clearer, Charles Frederick (Frederick C on the 1881 Census) has no occupation and then there is a Florence, Granddaughter, aged 11 months and born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire with the family.
1901 Census - 20 Sims Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Mary again is Head of Household, down as married, not a widow. With her is her son Frederick, aged 20 a Boot and Shoe Salesman. Then there is William WALLIS, son-in-law aged 26, Barman, Beerhouse, born Beeston, Nottinghamshire, Elizabeth WALLIS, daughter, aged 26 Lacemaker, born Lynn, Norfolk, Samuel WALLIS, aged 3 born Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Annie WALLIS, aged 2 born Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, then there is a Florrie ELLIOTT aged 10 Granddaughter born Nottingham Nottinghamshire. (On the BMD for the marriage of Elizabeth GRANGE and William WALLIS (as the appear on the 1901 Census) she is down as Mary Elizabeth and he is down as James William, so on the 1901 Census they had both dropped their first names.
1911 56 Norland Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. With Mary was a Florence ELLIOTT a Granddaughter aged 20 a Jenner born Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.
  3. 1871 Census - 203 High Street, Watford, Huntingdonshire. The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
