Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 16, at 6 p.m., at The Grace Place Community Church, 1550 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL, with Senior Pastor Rick Addison officiating. Roy was born on January 5, 1920, in Lansing, Mi, the son of Roy and Marie (Clemmer) Shipman. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School, class of 1938, and then served in the Michigan National Guard during World War II. Roy retired in 1980 from the Jupiter Island Club where he took pride in pool maintenance. He previously worked for Southeastern Printing in Stuart. Before moving to Florida in 1965, Roy made his career in Lansing and Battle Creek, MI, as a Lithographer. He was a member of the Grace Place Community Church in Stuart, FL. Roy was a 10-gallon blood donor, was proficient in gardening, derived much pleasure from his pet cats, and spent endless hours "puttering" and fixing whatever did or did not need it.
