  1. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. There was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
1871 Stoke Row, Oxfordshire. With James who is now a widower is his eldest son James, his daughter Emma, down as Emma BATH(S)(E) married, a visitor, born Goring, Oxfordshire, then Alice his daughter a Housekeeper, then Elizabeth BATH(S)(E) granddaughter, aged 1 born Highworth, Wiltshire and then a Wilfred H HEWETT aged 3 months born Goring, Oxfordshire and then a servant, Sarah MASKALE aged 69 born Pippward?, Oxfordshire.
A great grandson of James and Elizabeth   contacted me on 27th March 2007, giving me information for his family. I have therefore gone back to this generation which has increased our knowledge of this family considerably.
  2. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
  3. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
    1871 Stoke Row, Oxfordshire
1891 Wake Row, Ispen, Oxfordshire. There is a James HEWETT who ties up with age etc for this James and he is at the same place as the family were in 1861 BUT his is down as widowed which is fine as he could have married between 1871 and 1891 and then lost his wife BUT with his is a William PERRIN aged 15 down as Grandson, born Hisden, Oxfordshire. So this would not have been possible if he was not married in 1871, so it needs to be looked at more closely.
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, this shows as a baptism date, later ones show as a birth date)
  4. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1871 Stoke Row, Oxfordshire. Emma is a Visitor, but down as daughter on this Census. She has a child with her an Elizabeth BATH (this could be BATHS or BATHE) she is 1 and born Highworth, Wiltshire
1881 30 High Street, Highworth, Wiltshire. (Definitely BATHE on this Census)  (So Emma did not marry an ALLEN, so assume now it must be Martha, but have now found her as FREWIN - a niece was )was with Robert and Walter on the 1891 Census.
    1891 Market Place, Highworth, Wiltshire
1901 7 North Street, Swindon, Wiltshire
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, this shows as a baptism date, later ones show as a birth date)
  5. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1871 Rotherfield Greys, Oxfordshire. Children - Rosa 9 a Scholar, William 7 a Scholar, Edwin 4 a Scholar and John H 2 all born Greys, Oxfordshire.
1891 Cottage, Greys, Oxfordshire. Children - John 22 Farm Labourer born Greys, Lewis 15 Farm Labourer born Bix, Grace 12 Scholar born Bix, Frederick 9 Scholar, born Bix, and then there is a Charles ALLEN a Grandson, aged 1 born Reading Berkshire.
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, this shows as a baptism date, later ones show as a birth date)
  6. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1881 High Street, Wickham, Hampshire. There were three apprentices with the family.
1891 High Street, Wickham, Hampshire. (still to find on 1871 Census, but the 1891 confirms the marriage I have found)
    1901 High Street, Wickham, Hampshire.
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, so this could be baptism date)
  7. 1841 Mill House, Street, Goring, Oxfordshire. here was a George HEWETT, aged 39 born Oxfordshire and a Hannah TOMKINS aged 19 a F Servant with the family.
    1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
    1871 Not found
1881 26 Boundary Road, St Johns, Hampstead, Middlesex. The servants were Elizabeth WAGMIRE (17) General Servant born Marylebone, Middlesex, Fanny MARTIN (14) General Servant born Marylebone, Middlesex and Alfred PITT (19) Butcher's Assistant born St John's Wood, Middlesex, a brother of Matilda
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, so this could be baptism date)
  8. 1851 Cane End, Caversham, Oxfordshire
1861 Yew Farm, Sutton Courtney, Berkshire. I am certain this is our Alice but she has made herself a couple of years older than she was. She was with an Edward SEYMOUR and his family, he was 33 a Farmer, born Appleford, Berkshire
    1871 Stoke Row, Oxfordshire
1901 60 Great Queen Street, Dartford, Kent. (see note 9 - where there is an Alice which matches this one, but she is down as widowed)
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, so this could be baptism date)
  9. 1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
1891 Alma Cottage, Ispen, Oxfordshire. Robert was with his brother Walter and also Rosa ALLEN niece aged 29 married, a Dressmaker// born Highborn, Oxfordshire, Edith ALLEN 3 niece born Reading, Berkshire, a Scholar, Eva FREWIN 8 a Scholar, born Bix, Oxfordshire.
1901 60 Great Queen Street, Dartford, Kent. Robert is with an Alice HEWETT a widow, aged 58, no occupation born Goring Mill, Oxfordshire (a bit of a mystery as this ties up with the Alice on the Chart above, but she should not have the name HEWETT if a widow), also with them was a Thomas B HEWETT down as son, so if Alice as the head submitted the Census it would be her son, he is 25 and born in Henley and is a Bread Maker, there is also a visitor a Edith ALLEN aged 13 born Reading, Berkshire. (the ALLEN's appeared as relatives on the previous Census)  (so what were they all doing in Dartford, Kent.
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, so this could be baptism date)
  10. 1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, so this could be baptism date)
  11. 1861 Wake? Row Common, Ispen, Oxfordshire
IGI Birth - Record submitted by a member of the LDS Church (not an actual record, this shows as a baptism date, but is two years later than birth date on 1861 Census)
1891 Alma Cottage, Ispen, Oxfordshire. Walter was with his brother Robert and also Rosa ALLEN niece aged 29 married, a Dressmaker, born Highborn, Oxfordshire, Edith ALLEN 3 niece born Reading, Berkshire, a Scholar, Eva FREWIN? 8 a Scholar, born Bix, Oxfordshire.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
