Also charged with feloniously stealing from the shop of one Henry Augustus Frederick Dowden, eighty-two yards of cotton shirting, of the value of two pounds, seventeen shillings and sixpence, of the property of the said Henry August Frederick Dowden, at Wimborne, on the 24th December, 1880. Also charged with feloniously stealing from the shop of one William Hawker, one pair of boots, of the value of 11s. 6d., of the property of the said William Hawker, at Wimborne, on the 9th December, 1990. Also charged with feloniously stealing from the shop of one William Henry Brett, one skirt, of the value of three shillings and eleven pence, of the property of the said William Henry Brett at Wimborne, on the 23rd December, 1880. Also charged with feloniously stealing from the shop of one William Symmonds one piece of woollen check, of the value of one pounds, eighteen shillings and sixpence of the property of the said William Symmonds, at Wimborne, on the 24th December, 1880. He either was found Guilty or pleaded Guilty of all the offences. on the first he was sentenced to 3 month's hard labourer, for the second 3 months hard labour to commence on the expiration of the first Indictment. On the third 3 months had labour to commence at the expirations of the and Indictment and for the fourth he was sentenced to 3 months hard labour to commence on the expiration of Indictment No 3 and be subject to 2 years Police Supervision. Both the nieces wee Scholars born In Wimborne, Dorset. With them was a Thomas PARSON a Lodger aged 35 an Agricultural Labourer born Woodlands, Dorset. 1869 Holt Forest, Dorset (baptism of Harry) 1871 Holt Forest, Wimborne Minster, Dorset. 1881 Holt Forset, Wimborne, Dorset. Harry was a Boarder, a Scholar with a Susannah GURD aged 73 a Widow born Tadden, Dorset. 1871 Holt Forest, Dorset (baptism of Edward) 1881 Rowe, Wimborne, Dorset. With his grandparents Levi and Eliza MIDDLETON 1873 Holt Forest, Dorset (baptism of Bessie) 1881 Hope Street South. Weymouth, Dorset. Bessie is down as a Niece born Holt, dorset. She is with a James Henry HIBBERD aged 34 a Malster born Holtwood, Dorset and his wife Elizabeth Jane aged 36 born Corfe, Dorset. 1878 Holt Forest, Dorset (baptism of Anna) 1881 Hinton Martel, Dorset, Alice and Anna were down as nieces both with a William JAMES aged 38 a Paper Mill Labourer born Witchampton, Dorset and Mary J JAMES aged 34 a Paper Mill Evener born Corfe Castle, Dorset, they had a son william G aged 13 a scholar born Dorchester, Dorset. Both the nieces wee Scholars born In Wimborne, Dorset. With them was a Thomas PARSON a Lodger aged 35 an Agricultural Labourer born Woodlands, Dorset. 1880 Holt Forest, Dorset (baptism of Agnes Eliza) Dorset baptism and BMD death Again this chart started with three children that I had found on he 1871, by 1881 Mary the mother had died, and the father John was in prison for stealing from shops, mainly on Christmas Eve 1880, which I find very tragic, having just lost his wife and his youngest child. I would think he was at his wits end at how to keep his family. He had a sentence of a year in total and on the 1881 Census his remaining six children were mainly with relatives. The eldest was working and Harry appears to have been with someone in the of Holt. I found the additional three children by the baptisms but I am sure that I have now found all of the children that Mary had, although I would have thought that there should have been another one above 1876. I cannot find the family after the 1881 Census, On some of the baptisms the name appears as HIBBERT not HIBBERD so it is possible that this was the name they were known by.
