I have looked for a Thomas Henry HILLYARD, but cannot find him other than on the 1901 Census as born in Guernsey. There is a birth registered in September quarter 1869 in Lambeth which could be the correct registration and on the 1871 and 1881 there is s Thomas HILLYARD born in Surrey, with a Francis HILLYARD as the father born in Ireland and a Caroline as the mother born in Guernsey. I think this is the correct family. They have a daughter Caroline Harriet who is 14 on the 1881 Census and is down as being born in Darham? but the rest of the children who are younger than Thomas are all down as being born in Lambeth. Francis is down a a Clerk -Lower Division War Office, so possibly he travelled around.
  6. 1881 211 Kennington Road, Lambeth, London
1891 16 Lacon Road, Camberwell, Surrey
    1901 Not found
  7. 1881 211 Kennington Road, Lambeth, London
1891 16 Lacon Road, Camberwell, Surrey
1901 1 Kemble? Road, Sydenham, Lewisham, Surrey, Isabella is with her sister Caroline and her husband  down as a visitor, also under Isabella there is an Arthur C HILLYARD also down as a visitor, aged 2 months, born Marylebone, Middlesex. possibly a daughter of Isabella?
  8. 1881 211 Kennington Road, Lambeth, London
    1891 Not found
  9. 1881 211 Kennington Road, Lambeth, London
1891 16 Lacon Road, Camberwell, Surrey
Marriage found as name is given as Elizabeth Heitzeberg HILLYARD but at present cannot find on the 1901 census.
    1901 Cannot find at present
1911 Helensburh Hare Hill, Chertsey, Surrey. The marriage certificate says she married Henry John MAYO. This census return is strange and I would think that she was no longer living with her husband. The head of household is William Mitchell WARD married born 1865 a Stock Exchange Clerk, born Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. Elizabeth says she has been married 10 years and had had three children all still living with her. They are down as Gwendoline Frances MAYO (aged 9) but in the relation column there is the word WARD which is the surname of the Head of Household. Elizabeth is down as being a Housekeeper and there is a 17 year difference between William and Elizabeth's ages. Gwendoline is down as having been born in Brixton. The same applies for the other two children. There is Patrick Edward MAYO with WARD in the next column aged 7 born New Malden, Surrey and Heitzberg Henry MAYO with WARD in the next column aged 4 born Clapham, London.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
