    1871 Census - 2 Pound Place, Shalford, Surrey. Ruth's mother was with them a Mary BACHELOR aged 82 a widow born Whitley, Surrey, There was also a son, a Charles PORTER aged 12 unemployed born Wonersh, Surrey, I would think therefore a child of Mary Ann and not Ruth.
    1881 Census - Shalford Common, Shalford, Surrey. There was a Harry HOOKER aged 2 a Nurse Child birth place down as NK with Daniel and Ruth.
    1891 Census - Station Road, Shalford, Surrey. There was a son a George BROWN aged 25 a Railway Signalman born Tonbridge, Kent, with them, so a son of Susan from a previous marriage. Also a Boarder and three lodgers with the family.

    1901 Census - 23 Wisbeach Road, Croydon, Surrey, Susannah was a visitor, a widow with a Henry NETHERTON, his wife and daughter.
