  1. 1841 Census - George Lane, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. The ages are not correct on this Census but certain correct family. There is an Eliza GALE, aged 15 with the family.
1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1871 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire. George REED, Grandson, aged 11 was with the family on this Census. (See REED 0601). There was a Thomas RUSHTON, as a Lodger in the same house, his wife was Charlotte who was born in Warboys, Huntingdonshire, she is down as Lodgers wife but I believe is is the daughter of Thomas above, I have therefore shown the marriage above. They had a son, John T RUSHTON, who was 9 months and born in Higher Booths, Lancashire. I will put a chart on for this family
1881 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire. Head of household, Thomas RUSHTON, family of his was his wife as above and John T aged 10 a Scholar and half timer at Calico Printing Works, Kate aged 8 a Scholar and James aged 3 all born Crawshawbooth, Lancashire, Thomas REED, Charlotte's father was with the family, also George REED, grandson, (See REED 0601)
The spelling of the surname REED varies from Census to Census and on the BMD, it can be found as REED or READ or REID and it is worth looking for all three alternatives.
  2. 1841 Census - George Lane, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. The ages are not correct on this Census but certain correct family. There is an Eliza GALE, aged 15 with the family.
1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
  3. 1841 Census - George Lane, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Dead Lane, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. There is a George REED aged 23 an Ag Lab, a widower, he has a son George aged 1. There is a Ann REED on the BMD death in September quarter 1859 who I believe is the correct person for his wife. I would think that she was expecting at time of marriage and died in childbirth. I have put this chart on as REED as that is how it appears on Census and BMD although we had the marriage down as REID. There are no REID families in Warboys whereas there are quite a few REEDs.
1871 Census - Dead Lane, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1881 Census - Low Clough, Higher Booths, Rawstenall, Lancashire. There was a Lucy CUNLIFFE, visitor, aged 5 with the family, born Lower Booths, Lancashire.
1891 Census - Broading House, Higher Booths, Rawstenall, Crawshawbooth, Lancashire
1901 Census - Broading House, Higher Booths, Rawstenall, Crawshawbooth, Lancashire
The spelling of the surname REED varies from Census to Census and on the BMD, it can be found as REED or READ or REID and it is worth looking for all three alternatives.
  4. 1871 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire. I originally has this chart on as Henry being the father, but as he would have only been 13 when he had James I am fairly certain this is correct. I still think that Bridget and children are part of this family but as there is no husband on the 1871 Census I do not know who the husband was. I have assumed that he was not at home on the 1851 and there is a gap in the family of Thomas and Catherine in 181 which would explain why he was not on the 1841 Census. However this would still mean that when James was born the ??? REED would have only been 18. It is therefore possible that he was born before George the eldest son we have at present in 1838.
I cannot find any more details of this family. They only appear on the 1871 census. Perhaps they went back to Ireland.
The spelling of the surname REED varies from Census to Census and on the BMD, it can be found as REED or READ or REID and it is worth looking for all three alternatives.
  5. 1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire

1871 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire.
1881 Census - Square, Higher Booths, Lancashire.
1891 Census - 11 Lord Street, Higher Booths, Lancashire. There was a visitor a ? REED (will have to go back to census to check details)
1901 Census - 11 Lord Street, Higher Booths, Lancashire
The spelling of the surname REED varies from Census to Census and on the BMD, it can be found as REED or READ or REID and it is worth looking for all three alternatives.
  6. 1851 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1871 11 Toan? Street, St Saviour, Southwark, London.
1881 No 1 Nelson Street, Leather Market, Bermondsey, London. Five children on this Census, Warboys, spelt Worboys, so difficult to find.
1891 42 Sultan Street, Camberwell, London
1901 39 Barseer Road, Camberwell, London
  7. 1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1871 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire.
1881 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire. Charlotte's father was with the family, also George REED, grandson, (See REED 0601)
1891 Census - 15 Primrose Terrace, Higher Booths, Lancashire. With the family was a George REED, nephew, aged 33 a Beamer for Calico Printers, born Warboys, Huntingdonshire and also Leah PICKUP, a Boarder, aged 23 a Winder in Cotton Mill, born Crawshawbooth, Lancashire
  8. 1851 Census - West End of High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1871 Census - Channel, Higher Booths, Lancashire.. Details as shown for Charles and Emma on Chart above, they had a child, a Charlotte who was either 5 months, weeks or days, it is a job to see. However an entry has been added for her which says Dead 2nd April. This also has the entry Schedule returned having removed. There is a line through the Charlotte entry.
The marriages for Thomas and Charles have been found on the BMD, I think they are correct but Charles's wife is down as being Mary Emma, on the Censuses she is Emma M. Also I would think it is correct and the wives are related, although the BMD shows the names as HERMON and HERMAN, I think it is too much of coincidence not to be the same surname.
1881 Census - Reedlesdine Buildings, Higher Booths, Lancashire
1891 Census - 38 Hindle Street, Accrington, Lancashire
1901 Census - 42 Hindle street, Accrington, Lancashire

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
