  1. 1851 Census - Street, Margate, Kent
1861 Census - Street Green, Margate, Kent
1881 15 Montiefiore Place, Hereson Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent
1891 13 Montiefiore Place, Hereson Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent
1901 Census 2 Rose Villas, Montiefiore Place, Hereson Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent
Frederick and Elizabeth changed their ages on every Census, making themselves a few years younger on each 10 year census. However I am certain because of the addresses and where they were born that it is the same couple all the time. On the 1901 Census Frederick says he is 49 and Elizabeth (down as Lizzie) says she is 47. On the 1891 Census Frederick is 45 and Elizabeth is 40. From the 1881 Census and the baptism date for Frederick that he was in 1891 actually 50 and Elizabeth was 47, so by the 1901 Census he had cut 11 years off his age and ELizabeth had cut 10 years off hers.
  2. 1871 Census - Elizabeth and her daughters are at Station House, Sittingbourne, Kent. Elizabeth is down as Lodgers wife, but their is no Frederick Setterfield in the house or anyone with the surname Setterfield. Elizabeth has a NK by her birth place to assume this mean Not Known. Ellen is aged 4 and born in Whitstable, Kent and Emily is aged 2 and born in Broadstairs, so definitely the correct family. Assume that Frederick was away from home at the time of the Census. Ancestry.com has the three females down as SHERFIELD but on the Census it is clear as SETTERFIELD.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
