  1. 1851 Census - 1 Dover Corner, Tilmanstone, Kent.
1861 Census - Pond Cottage, Tilmanstone, Kent
1871 Census - Chillenden, Kent - George SETTERFIELD is down as a Boarder, Aged 20,  He was a Farm Servant, and he was born in Minster.
1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1901 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent. As well as those people on the Chart marked 5 above there was a George SETTERFIELD, aged 11 months, down as a Grandson, born Eastry, Kent with the family.
  2. 1851 Census - Chillenden, Kent.
    1861 Census - Chillenden, Kent.
1871 Census - Church Street, Eastry Kent.  I have found Jane SETTERFIELD at her parents home on the 1871, but she was married and George was a Boarder in Chillenden at that time also shown as married. So the household with Jane SETTERFIELD it was as follows  William KNOWLER, Head, aged 80 Pensioner, born Ash, Kent, Elizabeth Ann KNOWLER, wife, aged  64 born Shepherdswell, Kent, Jane SETTERFIELD, age 21 Daughter, born Chillenden, Kent. Mary E KNOWLER, aged 7 Granddaughter, a Scholar, born Buckland, Kent and Ellen SETTERFIELD, Granddaughter, age 2 months, born Eastry, Kent. (I do not know if Mary E KNOWLER was the daughter of Jane but she is listed under her so I am going to include her on the chart above. (I now do not think that May was a daughter of Jane, have left on Chart above until I can find out more)
1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1901 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent. As well as those people on the Chart marked 5 above there was a George SETTERFIELD, aged 11 months, down as a Grandson, born Eastry, Kent with the family.
  3. 1871 Census - Church Street, Eastry, Kent (I do not now think that Mary was a child of Jane.
  4. 1871 Census -Church Street, Eastry, Kent
  5. 1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
Cannot find William on the 1901 Census, but there is a marriage as shown in Eastry in 1898 and with George and Jane on the 1901 there is a Grandson, George SETTERFIELD aged 11 months, as William is the only son I think it is more than like that George was his son, but of course one of the daughters could have had a child without being married.
1911 Census - 35 Gilford Road Deal, Kent
  6. 1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
  7. 1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1901 Census - Church Street, St Clements, Sandwich, Kent. Although married in 1899 they have a son Frederick T aged 3 born Deal, Kent on this Census.
1911 Census - Cooper St Ash Canterbury, Kent. Not with her husband on this Census but time married etc ties up with the Gertrude above, she is with a Thomas EVANS aged 63 and she is down as a niece, I assume her son Leslie is with her but he is down as a nephew (should have a great or something in front of it) Thomas is a Pensioner, Naval and he was born in North Wales, his wife is with him, she is Lydia aged 67 born Chilenden.
  8. 1881 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent

  9. 1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
  10. 1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent
1901 Census - Oakland House, High Street, Eastry, Kent. Sally was a servant to a Howard CLARK aged 37 born Ham?, Kent a Mechanical Engineer and his family
  11. 1891 Census - Buttsole, Eastry, Kent

On the 14th August 2008 I received feedback from Linda the Granddaughter of Winifred Jane SETTERFIELD, this gave me details of Winifred's husband. They had a son Donald, Linda's father who died six weeks before I received Linda's email. She found my Web Site after going through family papers and finding her grandparents death certificate.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
