Living only a couple of premises away from his parents. 1901 Next (Nest?) Street, Bere Regis, Dorset as a widower. Living with the family was Elizabeth PUTT, sister-in-law (52) widow born Lymington, Hampshire, so a sister of Ellen 1891 Woodbury Hill, Bere Regis, Dorset. Living only a couple of premises away from William's parents. I was contacted by Justin STANDFIELD on 12th February 2007 with the following message : Just had a look at your tree on GenesConnected and noticed that you have Henry Standfield's wife as Emma Thomas (Henry being a son of William Standfield & Virtue Cobb). In fact, Henry's wife's name was Ellen Jane Thomas. Its a sad tale actually - she died on Boxing Day 1897 from pulmonary tuberculosis - leaving 3 little children behind. Her much older widowed sister helped Henry with the children afterwards. I have now altered the chart above to show this. I have looked at the 1891 Census before but had not picked up that it was Ellen Jane THOMAS although it is very clear that was her name.
