    Notes
There is only one James STEMP birth registered in the Hambledon District, Surrey in 1841 and none before that. However, we have two James STEMPs who appear to be born in this year. To which one this birth entry belongs we have no idea!

1871 Census - 24 Knightons Lane, Dunsfold, Surrey
1881 Census - Brook Farm, Clay Hill Road, Leigh, Surrey. Possibly - because there was only one Robert STEMP born 1861 on 1881 CD-ROM and
the place corresponds with the address at the time of marriage one year later. However, place of birth is shown as Aldershot. Boarding with Stephen HOLMWOOD (51) Agricultural Labourer born Charlwood, Surrey his wife Naomi (46) born Horne, Surrey, and children Stephen (12), Arthur (7), Edith (10) Albert (5) all Scholars and Emily (2) all children born Ever, Kent. 1883 Newdigate, Surrey
1885 Newdigate, Surrey (baptism of Agnes)
1887 Newdigate, Surrey (baptism of Frederick)
1891 Census - Lee Street, Horley, Surrey as a widower. Possibly - because place of birth shown as "Not Known", and as Robert was by now a widower there is no check on the name of his wife. However, date of birth matches and there were no other Roberts born 1855-1865 on FreeBMD or ancestry.com. Living with them was Eliza AKEHURST (21) Housekeeper born Copthorne, Surrey
1897 Horley, Surrey (baptism of Wheatley Harry)
1901 Census - Woodbine Cottage, School Road, Burstow, Surrey. Possibly - because place of birth shown as Farnham, Surrey. This is the same Robert as the one on the 1891 Census as he was remarried to Eliza AKEHURST who was housekeeper in 1891
1902 Burstow, Surrey (baptism of Ethel Beatrice)
1907 Cobbets, Okewood, Surrey (baptism of Dorothy Grace)
1911 Census - Monday Hill Cottage, Ewhurst, Surrey
1913 Ewhurst, Surrey (baptism of Vera Marjorie Stella)
1936 6 Nelson Road, Caterham, Surrey (Surrey Electoral Roll) At this address Robert STEMP, Eliza STEMP and Vera STEMP
1937 6 Nelson Road, Caterham, Surrey (Surrey Electoral Roll) At this address Robert STEMP, Eliza STEMP and Vera STEMP
1938 6 Nelson Road, Caterham, Surrey (Surrey Electoral Roll) At this address Robert STEMP, Eliza STEMP and Vera Marjorie STEMP
1946 The Cottage, Nelson Road, Caterham, Surrey (Surrey Electoral Roll) At this address Robert STEMP, Eliza STEMP and Vera Marjorie STEMP
1949 5 London Road, Caterham, Surrey (address given at burial)
1950 5 London Road, Caterham, Surrey (address given at probate)
More complications in that on the 1891 Census Robert's children were shown as being born in Horley. On the 1901 Agnes is shown as born in Newdigate and Frederick as born in Charlwood. No sign of Charles at present. The four children of Robert's second marriage are shown as being born in Horne, Surrey, Worth Sussex, Horley and Smallfield Surrey. Their mother was shown as being born in Copthorne in 1891 and Burstow in 1901.
On the BMD marriage for Robert and Eliza, Robert is shown as STAMP.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
