  1. 1817 Cranley Workhouse, Cranley, Surrey (baptism, mother Mary)
    1841 Not found
    1846 Cranley, Surrey (marriage)

1853 Cranley Common, (baptism of Thomas)
1856 Guildford, Surrey (baptism of William Henry)
1861 Census - 26 South Street, Guildford, Surrey - The birth dates are a little bit out, but I am certain that this is this family on the 1861 Census. Living at 23 South street, Guildford, Surrey.
1862 Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey (baptism of Flora)
1863 Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey (baptism of William)
1871 Census - North Street, Guildford St Mary, Guildford, Surrey. Again the birth dates of William and Charlotte do not correspond to what we have, they are saying they are both around 5 years younger than the dates we have, but again other than that I am  certain it is the right family.
At his marriage William gave his father’s name as John. At present there is no likely William, with father John. However, John and Jane STEMP (Chart 0700) had a daughter Mary. A Mary STEMP had a son, William, in 1817. A William STEMP, age 33 (born 1818) and wife, Charlotte, lived in Cranley in 1851. William STEMP (father John) married Charlotte HEDGER in 1846, both of Full Age (born before 1825). Considering this information, and the possibility that William could have been brought up to recognize John, his grandfather, as his father, the William has provisionally been included as a descendant of this particular STEMP family.

1863 Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey (baptism of William)

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
