  1. Memorial Inscription
    Abraham Thornton late of Heaton Lane, Carrier, who departed this life the 15th day of May 1800, in the 51 year of his age. And I heard a voice from Heaven saying Unto me write Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea faith the spirit that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them. Also two children of the above Abraham Thornton, namely Hannah and George who died in their infancy. Also of Martha the wife of the above mentioned who died February 20th 1808 aged 55 years. Also in the Memory of Betty the wife of Stephen Thornton of Cleckheaton who died February 20th 1847 aged 68 years.
