  1. 1871 Census - Warren House, Sutton, Sussex. 
  2. 1861 Census - Lane Cottage, Coates, Sussex. 
  3. IGI -Coates, Sussex- I then went to the IGI and found the baptism of Moses, which at least now gives me the first name of his father. from this I found the baptism for Pheobe and Joseph. This then gave me some additional children, Job, Elizabeth and Michael
  4. 1851 Census - Coates, Sussex. 
  5. 1881 Census - Sutton, Sussex. Children Mary A, aged 2 born Sutton, Sussex and George aged 8 months born Sutton, Sussex
  6. 1891 Census - Cottage, Bignor, Sussex. Children Mary A, aged 12, born Sutton, Sussex, Scholar, George, aged 10 born Sutton, Sussex, Scholar, Arthur 5 born Byworth, Sussex and Elizabeth 2 born Byworth, Sussex.
  7. 1901 Census - Bignor Village, Bignor, Sussex. James was a widower on this Census. Children with him were: Mary A aged 22 born Sutton, Sussex, George 20 Seaman Royal Navy born Sutton, Sussex, Arthur 15 Cowman on Farm born Byworth, Sussex, Elizabeth 12 born Byworth, Sussex, There was a Richard TUPPER, brother aged 65 a Farm Labourer, born Sutton, Sussex with the family.
