  1. 1841 Whineray Ground, Dunnerdale, Kerkby Ireleth, Lancashire John aged 66 and Mary appear as the mane people. Then I assume son William aged 30 and then I think Hannah his wife also down as 30 (ages were rounded up and down for adults to the nearest five years on this Census), Then there is a Thomas WHINERAY down as 20 (could this be another son of John and Mary), then John aged 4 months who because of the 1851 Census I believe to be a son of William and Hannah, then there is a William PROCTOR aged 15 a Male Servant and a Sarah TONSON?, 15 a Female Servant with the family.
    1851 Whineray Ground, Dunnerdale with Seathwaite, Lancashire. John was head, with him was his son William aged 43 and his wife Hannah and children John and Mary. Also with them was an Edward RAWLINSON aged 30 a Farm servant born Hawkshead, Westmoreland, a Soloman BERKET 16 a Farm Servant born Ulpha, Cumberland and a Hannah POSTLETHWAITE aged 17 a House Servant born Seathwaite, Lancashire.

    1851 Sledbank Whicham, Cumberland. With the family was an Eleanor JACKSON aged 18 a House Servant born Kirby, Lancashire, a James GARNETT aged 20 a Farm servant born Thwaite, Cumberland and a Thomas TURNER aged 19 a Farm Servant born Lowick, Lancashire.
    1861 Marsh Field, Angerton, Lancashire.. With the family was a John WATSON aged 27 a Farm servant born Millom, Cumberland and a George HOLME aged 17 a Farm Servant born Kirkby Ireleth, Lancashire.

    I believe that John WHINERAY born 3rd January 1809 and baptised 13th January 1809 and William Mason WHINERAY born 13th May 1806 and baptised 24th May 1806 were both brothers of Samuel.  John appears as a burial in St Mary Magdalene in Barrow in Furness along with a son, a Moses Mason WHINERAY who died in 1913.
    1841 Hall Dunnerdale, West Broughton, Hawkeshead, Lancashire. With the family were an Ann CAPTON aged 29 a Female Servant, a Stephen STEPHENSON aged 24 a Male Servant and a William ATKINSON aged 24 a House Carpenter
  6. 1861 Hall Dunnerdale, Dunnerdale, Lancashire.
    1871 No 4 Hall, Dunnerdale, Lancashire. With Robert were Nieces  Mary  aged 35 a Grocer and Elizabeth aged 24 an Assistant to Mary  both born Seathwaite, Lancashire and a Stephen STEPHENSON a Boarder aged 54 a Retired Farmer born Ulpha, Cumberland.
    1881 Bridgend, Dunnerdale with Seathwaite, Lancashire. With Robert was a Mary WHINERAY Niece aged 39?, a Housekeeper born Whitbeck, Cumbria (I am not certain who this Mary was, the Mary he was with on the 1871 had died, I think it is the Mary on WHINERAY Chart 0702 but have nothing to prove it at this stage of research, but she is the nearest to the age give, although this is difficult to read as it has a thick line through it)
  7. 1851 Green Bank, Dunnerdale with Seathwaite, Lancashire. Thomas was unmarried with him was a Frances COOK aged 59 a House Servant born Kale, Cumberland
