    I Elizabeth WILLCOCK of the "Bedford Arms" Bedford Street, Brighton in the County of Sussex, Beerhouse Keeper make Oath and say as follows
    1 That the statements set forth in Paragraphs 1,2,3,4 and 5 of the Petition dated the 24th day of March1891 are true.
    2 That the statement set forth in paragraph 6 thereof are true to the best of my knowladge information and belief.
    3 Theare there is not any collusion or connivance between me and my husband Willam Henry WILLCOCK in any way whatever.

    The Petition of Elizabeth WILLCOCK of The Bedford Arms, Bedford Street Brighton in the County of Sussex Beer House Keeper
    Sheweth:-
    1 That on or about the 29th day of January 1866  your Petitioner then Elizabeth MOODY, spinster was lawfully married to William Henry WILLCOCK at Saint Nicholas Church in the Parish of Brighton in the County of Sussex.
    2. That after her said marriage your Peitioner lived  and cohabited with her said husband firts in Margaret Street and then in Edward Street and then in Kin Street and then in Warwick Street and then in Lavender
    Street and then the Bradford Arms Beehouse in Bedford
    Street all in Brighton aforesaid and that there is  surviving issue of the said marriage four children namely William Charles WILLCOCK born on the 26th January 1867, Nicholas WILLCOCK born on the 12th February 1871, Matilda WILLCOCK born on the 13th
    April 1873 and Alfred Ernest WILLCOCK born on the  25th January 1876
    3 That in consequence of the cruelty and inkinperate habits of the said William Henry WILLCOCK your  Petitioner separated from him on or abouth the 1st day of July 1877 and she had never since lived or  cohabited with him
    4 That during the five years immediately preceding the 2nd July 1877 the said William Henry WILLCOCK was of drunken habits and on numerous occasions during that time he has violently assaulted and beaten your  Petitioner causing her on one occasionto have black eyes  and he habitually used coarse and insulting and  threating language to her
    5 That on the first day of July 1877 the said William  Henry WILLCOCK threatened to take the life of your Petitioner by means of a razor which he alleged he had ready on the dressing table.
    6 That from about the year 1879 until about the year  1890 the said William Henry WILLCOCK lived and cohabited and habitually committed adultery with a woman named Annie STURT at divers plance in Brighton aforesaid
    Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that your Lordshire will be peased to decree that her said Marriage with the said William Henry WILLCOCK may be
    dissolved and that she may have the  custody of the child of the said marriage who is under 16 years of age
    And that your Petitioner may have such further and other relief in the presmises as to your Lordship may seem meet

    pronounced that the Petitioner had sufficiently proved the contents of the said Petition and decreed the Marriage, had and solmnized on the 9th day of December, 1890 in the parish Church in the District Chapelry of All Souls, Brighton in the County of Brighton between Willam Charles WILLCOCK and Emily Emily WILLCOCK then Emily Ellen BUSSELL Spinster the Respondent.

    Referring to the Decree made in this Cause on the 20th day of July 1899 whereby it was decreed that the Marriage had and solemnized on the 9th day of December 1890, at the ParishChurch in the District Chapelry of All Souls, Brighton in the Coutny of Brighton between William Charles WILLCOCK the Petitioner and Emily Ellen WILLCOCK then BUSSELL Spinster be dissolved by reason that since the celebration thereof the said Respondent had been guilty of Adultery with the Corespondent Arthur George BALSDON unless sufficient cause be shown ot the Court why the said Decrees should not be made absolute, with six months from the making thereof - and no such cause having been shown, the President on application of the said Petitioner by his final Decree pronounced and declared the said Marriage to be dissolved

    1. That your Petitioner was on the 9th day of December 1890 lawfully married ot Emily Ellen WILLCOCK then Emily Ellen BUSSELL Spinster at the District Chapelry of All Souls Brighton in the County of Sussex.
    2. That after his said marriage your Peititoner lived and cohabited with his said wife at No 1 Bedford Street Brighton in the County of Sussex.
    3. That on the 10th day of October 1895 the said Emily Ellen WILLCOCK in the name of Emily Ellen WILLCOX went through a ceremony of marriage with Arthur George BALSDON at St Mark Church, Myddleton Square, Clerkenwell
    4. That from the 10th to the 31st day of October 1895 the said Emily Ellen WILLCOCK lived ithe the said Arthur George BALSDON as man and wife at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Pentonville Road, N.
    5. That the said Arthur George BALSDON on the 9th dayof June 1898 obtained a decreee nisi for nullity of his marriage with the said Emily Ellen WIICOCK other Emily Ellen WILLCOX on the ground of her bigamy your Petitioner being then alive which said decrees was made absolute on the 18th day of December 1898.
    Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays That your Lodship will be pleased to decree that the marriage of your Petitioner wth the said Emily Ellen WILLCOCK be dissolved
    And that your Petitioner may have such further and other relief as to your Lordship may seem meet.
