We believe that the surname of Hannah was IRISH not FISH, but it on the details of the marriage of Montague ONYETT and Lizzie KEECH in Canada the mother of Montague is put down as Hannah FISH. The marriage on the BMD for Henry and Hannah is down with her name as IRISH and as far as our searches have found their were no FISH families in Warboys at that time, but a family with the name of IRISH ties up with Hannah on the 1861 Census and I have put this Chart on to show her family.

A Neville E ONYETT is shown on the Detroit Border Crossings and Crew list on Ancestry.com. Arrival date 4th February 1943 birthplace I think should be Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, which ties up with the family of ONYETT's above, but does not ties up with this Neville E who was born in Broughton, Huntingdonshire. At the present time the actual image on Ancestry.com will not come up.

Granville Clifford ONYETT sailed from Liverpool on 25th February 1915 on the SS "Northland". He gave his age as 23 and his occupation as Marble Cutter. His nearest relative was his father, Henry ONYETT, of 20 Princess Street, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire. He sailed to Portland, Maine, USA. (In 1916 he was in Canada, see Note 9)

    First Name: G C

    Campaign Medals:
    Victory Medal
Given the information we have available it is likely that G C ONYETT was entitled to the Victory medal, also called the Inter Allied Victory Medal. This medal was awarded to all who received the 1914 Star or 1914-15 Star and, with certain exceptions, to those who received the British War Medal. It was never awarded alone. These three medals were sometimes irreverently referred to as Pip, Squeak and Wilfred.
Eligibility for this award consisted of having been mobilised, fighting, having served in any of the theatres of operations, or at sea, between midnight 4th/5th August, 1914, and midnight, 11th/12th November, 1918. Women who served in any of the various military organisations in a theatre of operations were also eligible.
    British War Medal
From the information available to us, it is very possible that G C ONYETT was entitled to the British War Medal for service in World War One. This British Empire campaign medal was issued for services between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918.
The medal was automatically awarded in the event of death on active service before the completion of this period.

NOTE - At the beginning of the line the name is UNNIOT and through the years it changes until today it is ONYETT. At present we are not certain as to when the name actually became ONYETT. As there are several variants in the spelling I have put the name ONYETT first on all the charts and then followed that with the spelling for that particular chart and indexed the whole line under ONYETT. ie ONYETT/UNYAT Chart 0700. The actual name as we have it appears for the actual people on the Chart.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
