    Information for Lucile SANFORD
    The Herald Journal, 01/29/04
Lucile Sanford HEATH formerly of Springville, departed this earth on Jan. 27, 2004, just shy of her 89th birthday, to rejoin her husband and many family and friends. Lucile was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Nephi. Her parents were Frank J. and Flossie (Painter) SANFORD She had red hair, tenacity and a strong personality. From early childhood during her formative years she lived in Springville on the family farm up on the bench near the mouth of Hobble Creek Canyon. She was the eldest of eight children. She attended school in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1934. After attending USU for two years, she served an LDS mission in New Mexico and Colorado. There she met her future husband, D. Hugh HEATH a convert and fellow missionary. They were married for time and all eternity in 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were lifelong companions here until his death in June of 2002. During their early married life, they lived in Mapleton and raised two sons, Bruce and David heath. Lucile helped Hugh support the family by raising livestock and tending hundreds of chickens. Everywhere they lived, they always had a huge garden of fresh vegetables, and picked and canned fruit for the winter.
In 1958, at age 42, Lucile graduated from BYU in elementary education. For the next 22 years she taught grade school. She loved teaching young children and is still remembered by many of her former students. They moved to different farms near Grace, Idaho, then to Clearfield, and finally settled on a dairy farm near Lewiston in 1965. When Hugh retired, they moved "into town" in Lewiston. After their health declined, they moved to Kaysville to be closer to their sons. Lucile's health continued to decline after Hugh's death. She has been living in Brighton Gardens and the Care Source Hospice Center in Murray for the past 11/2 years. The family wishes to express its appreciation for the loving care she has received there.
Lucile and Hugh were both active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many teaching and administrative capacities. Her immediate and extended family were an essential part of her life.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, D. Hugh HEATH; and by two brothers, Dee and Carl SANFORD. She is survived by her two sons, BRUCE (Claudia) Heath of Sandy and DAVID (Susan) Heath of Kaysville; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; younger sisters, Barbara (Dee) HATCH, Lavern (Max) LARDEN and Ina (Dean) BIRD all of Springville, and Ruth (Frank) BRINTON of Redwood City, Calif.; and her brother, J. The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
