  1. 1841 Ransomes Moor Drove, Doddington, Cambridgeshire. Father: William 45 Farmer, Mother: Mary 45, John 25, Elizabeth 23, Thomas 20, Mary 20 (Mantle Maker, William 15, Hannah 15, Henry 14, Ebenezer 12, Eliza 35, Emma 3 - all born in Cambridgeshire. There was also a William BEDMAN aged 20 a Blacksmith with the family.
1851 Wimblington, Cambridgeshire (note on the heading of this Census it was originally Doddington and this has been crossed through and Wimblington put in - I think therefore I have found the correct Ebenezer, and he was born in Doddington as the IGI shows and the 1841, this Census says Ebenezer was born in Wimblington, which I think is what Wimbledon should be on the 1861 Census. Family on this Census - William 58, Farmer of 78 Acres, born Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, Mary 56 born Doddington, Cambridgeshire, then the children all born Wimblington, Elizabeth 36, Sarah 28, Hannah 21, Ebenezer 20 Emma 12 and Sarah 5 and then there was a Joseph GRIMWOOD 15 a servant also born Wimblington, Cambridgeshire.
1861 Only Ebenezer REDHEAD was born 1832 in Wimbledon, Cambridgeshire, was an Ag Lab but no details given as to status but was Cousin to Head of House. No wife present. Park Lane, Leverington, Cambridgeshire. Living with Henry REDHEAD (32) Farmer of 76 acres employing 2 men born Wimbledon, Cambridgeshire, his wife Mary (32) Farmer's wife born March, Cambridgeshire, children Elizabeth G (5) born Wimbledon, Cambridgeshire, Fanny M (3) and Edward G (3 months) born Leverington, Cambridgeshire. Servants were Julia KILBURN (21) House Servant born Wells, Norfolk and John WINTER (16) Carter born Newtown, Cambridgeshire (This gives the problem of the relationship, I would have thought again the birth places should be Wimblington, but this Henry ties up with the Hanry on the 1841 and IGI baptism and would mean that Ebenezer was really the brother of Ebenezer not his cousin, However as Ebenezer is an uncommon name and is the only one that appears on the 1841 and 1851 Census and the only one in Cambridgeshire on the IGI, and I would think that this is the same Ebenezer on all three Censuses.)
IGI Baptism. Parents down as William and Mary REDHEAD.
IF this is the correct Ebenezer REDHEAD which I believe it is there were the following children for William and Mary (including Ebenezer)
Elizabeth REDHEAD baptised 6th January 1817 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Sarah REDHEAD baptised 31st March 1822 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Hannah REDHEAD baptised 18th July 1824 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
William REDHEAD baptised 8thJanuary 1826 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Henry REDHEAD baptised 5th April 1829 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Ebenezer REDHEAD baptised 9th January 1831 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Robert REDHEAD baptised 2nd February 1834 Doddington, Cambridgeshire
Eliza REDHEAD baptised 5th September 1836 Doddington, Cambridgeshire

  3. 1861 Blue Lane, Wimblington, Cambridgeshire
1871 There are two entries for a Julia A REDHEAD born 1856 Wimblington, Cambridgeshire both showing her as a niece. Both families are obviously connected anyway. (1) Cross Lane, Downham, Cambridgeshire. Living as niece with John SIMPSON (50) Farmer of 12 acres born Downham, Cambridgeshire, his wife Hannah (47) Farmer's wife born Wimblington, Cambridgeshire and daughter Susan  A (16) born Downham, Cambridgeshire. Living with them was another niece, Emma BEALES (3) born Wisbech, Cambridgeshire (2) 13 Kings Head Inn, Wisbech St. Peter, Cambridgeshire

1881 Ely Road, Littleport, Cambridgeshire (there are two Charles REDHEAD's on the 1881 and 1901 Census born around the same year in Wimblington or Doddington, (which are very close to each other). The marriage on the BMD of a Charles William REDHEAD to a Sarah Ann TUCK has made be think that this is the correct one.
    1891 High Street, Littleport, Cambridgeshire
    1901 Wisbech Road, Littleport, Cambridgeshire
1911 4 Elsie Cottage, Wisbech Road, Littleport, Cambridgeshire

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
