    JOHN WHEATON TAKEN BY DEATH
    John Alexander WHEATON, 80, a pioneer resident of the Kittitas Valley, died Monday at the St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Yakima.
    WHEATON, who was born in Albany, Oregon, October 24, 1872, operated a farm in the Denmark area for many years until his retirement in 1934.
    He was married to Donna HUTSON on February 18, 1896. Both WHEATON and his wife had been in a Sunnyside nursing home since last June. Mrs. WHEATON preceded him in death November 11, 1952.
    Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Rhoda ANDREWS, Auburn and Mrs. Flora WANDLING and Mrs. Opal STARTUP, both of Sunnyside; two sons Lester WHEATON, Yakima, and LeRoy WHEATON of Tacoma; a sister, Mrs. Ida JOHANSON, Vancouver, Washington, and 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Evenson Chapel in Ellensburg, with the Rev. Dan RUEB officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
    The pallbearers for the funeral will be the following grandsons; James WANDLING, Lyle WANDLING, Earl WANDLING, Eugene STARTUP, Vern ANDREWS and Larry WHEATON.

    Funeral services were conducted today in Vancouver for Ida L. JOHANSON, 91, member of a pioneer Kittitas Valley family. She died Saturday in Lake Oswego, ore. She was born May 2, 1875 in Ellensburg, known then as Robbers Roost. Her parents were Dave and Elizabeth WHEATON, who settled her ein 1873.
    Mrs. JOHANSON was reared here and spent many years of her life in Ellensburg before moving to Vancouver and more recently to Lake Oswego. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dick (Myrtle) JENSEN, Yakima, Mrs. Earl (Mable) GUNDERSON, Madris, Ore., Mrs. James (Margie) McINTYRE, Lake Oswego; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; severeal nieces and nephews in Yakima Valley and on the coast.
